Valheim sea Serpent spawn locations
Sea snakes appear only in the ocean biome. They are currently the only hostile sea creatures in the game and are eager to attack players.
There is no surefire way to track down a Snake, as its spawning is completely random in the Ocean biome. It’s best to go far enough away from the coast at night to increase your chances of seeing a Snake. However, don’t venture too far into the open sea if you’re sailing a basic raft, as you may want to return to the coast quickly after finding the Snake.
How to kill SEA Serpent in valheim
There are two main methods of fighting the Snake: by sea or by land. The seaway involves shooting the Snake’s bow before it can destroy your boat. I would recommend a fine wood bow or better and Flinthead arrows or better. I would also advise you to avoid the open sea until you get a Karve, as ordinary Rafts will be destroyed very quickly by the Serpent.
The second method is to lure the Snake to land and shoot at it from a safe distance on hard land. The snake drop itself will not drown so you don’t have to worry that you will lose loot by killing it in open water.

When killed, the Sea Serpent can drop three types of loot:

- Snake scales
- Snake meat
Snake Trophies are purely decorative, like almost all other trophies in Valheim.
Snake Husks are rare crafting materials that can currently only be used to make the Snake Husk Shield, a tower shield with slightly greater strength than the Iron Tower Shield.
Snake Meat is usually dropped in large quantities from each Snake you kill, and can be cooked at the Cooking Station, just like any other source of meat. However, you can also preserve Snake Meat and turn it into Snake Stew with 2x Honey and 1x Mushroom, which gives you even more benefits.
