Kojima Productions has officially announced Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, the sequel to the action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic and science fiction world. Once again, the legendary Hideo Kojima, creator of the iconic Metal Gear series, leads the project.
Story
In this new installment, we follow the continued journey of Sam Porter Bridges, who united America in the first game using the chiral network. This time, the protagonist moves to Mexico to carry on his mission in a world plagued by supernatural anomalies. Along the way, he will once again face the Beached Things (BTs) and his old enemy, Higgs Monaghan. However, Sam is not alone – he is supported by Fragile and the organization Drawbridge.

Gameplay and New Features
Like its predecessor, Death Stranding 2 is an open-world game where logistics and reconnecting settlements play a crucial role. Several familiar transportation and exploration mechanics make a return, including:
- Exoskeletons to help carry heavy loads,
- Vehicles and floating cargo carriers that follow the player,
- The ability to construct structures, such as bridges and climbing ropes.
A major new feature is the DHV Magellan ship, a mobile operations base that can be summoned in areas connected to the chiral network. Players will be able to use its resources, such as Sam’s cabin and the armory.

Combat Encounters
During his journey, Sam will once again face various threats. In addition to the familiar Beached Things (BTs), he will battle Higgs’ robotic forces. Combat incorporates stealth and dynamic action mechanics with firearms. Additionally, players can quickly remove their cargo before engaging in fights to avoid damaging their shipments.
Technology and Graphics
The game is powered by the Decima Engine, also known from the Horizon series, with development support from Guerrilla Games. Thanks to collaboration with PlayStation Studios Visual Arts and the MetaHuman technology from Epic Games, the developers have achieved incredibly realistic character animations and facial expressions.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- 60 FPS in all graphical modes,
- Native 4K resolution is impressive,
- A wide variety of new items and structures,
- Expanded soundtrack, still as amazing as ever,
