If you’ve been playing Rust for a while, you probably know that High Quality Metal is such a holy grail for every player. With it, you can make better gear – from rifles to solid armor. It’s scarce and everyone is hunting for it. But rest assured, we’ll soon cover how to get it wisely and without frustration.

Rust How to Get High Quality Metal

High Quality Metal is a rare raw material that is used to create advanced equipment and upgrade your base. You need it for:

  • crafting weapons like AK, LR-300,
  • creating armor
  • upgrading base components

Where to get HQM in rust

This is the simplest way. You enter the monument, throw in the goodies you find, and see what falls out. Especially profitable are:

  • Weapon parts
  • Parts of electronics,
  • Some components like tech trash.

HQM ore digging

You can also mine it directly – although it is rare to find. HQM (High Quality Metal Ore) look for:

  • In caves,
  • In the mountains (mainly in winter biomes),
  • near large rocks.

Loot from monuments and events

If you like risk and PvP, then raiding Air Drops, Oil Rig, Cargo or Launch Site is for you. From these sites you can scrape HQM in finished form or as loot that you melt down.

Ore baking in the oven

Do you have an HQM ore? Now it’s a furnace. You need a large furnace, although a small one will do as well – just slower. You put in HQM ore and fuel (such as wood or low grade fuel) and wait. From each ore you have 1 HQM bar.

Dismantling vehicles

This is a higher level. If you can shoot down a helicopter or defeat an APC from a Launch Site, you’ll rack up a lot of HQMs – but that requires good weapons, ammo and a close-knit team.

CONCLUSION

High Quality Metal is a rare and valuable resource in Rust, essential for crafting top-tier weapons, armor, and base upgrades. You can get it by recycling advanced components, mining ore in snowy biomes or caves, looting monuments and events, smelting the ore in a furnace, or dismantling vehicles like helicopters. It’s scarce, but with smart strategies, you can steadily build up your supply without too much frustration.
